Hello everyone! The last three and a half weeks have been ... i'll use the word "challenging." The day we received the news that my fiance's mother had passed away was probably one of the worst days of my life. Losing a loved one is extremely difficult in itself. Losing a parent is by far the hardest thing I can imagine going through. It's been a rough past few weeks for us here, but we're dealing ok and James is getting better day by day. I never imagined something so tragic would happen so soon. Now, I'm trying to play catch-up on school work, which right now seems like a bigger burden than I'm ready to take on. Do I begin where we're at currently? Do I make-up the work from previous weeks so that I'm up to date with everyone else? This is what is constantly going through my mind. All the while we've got a Holiday vacation already paid for and planned from the day after this term ends (Dec.23) until Jan.5 so filing for an extention will do me no good. I have talked with my advisor, and I am going to re-take both of my classes from this term next term. The idea of failing is certainly not one that I'm taking lightly. I never thought I'd end up in a predicament like this, but unfortunately life happens, and you just have to deal with it the best way you possibly can. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to school and grades so you can all imagine that I'm having an extremely difficult time with this.
As for the final project and my topic I've still got a lot of research to do so I can't really comment a whole lot on the second part of the blog requirements for this week. Once I get caught up, I'll be sure to let you all know where I think my topic could be influential later in research. Till then.... happy writing :)

welcome to my blog!
Hi everyone! I've already posted something similar to what is required for this unit, but I have no problem doing so again. This is my 4th term here at Kaplan University. My major is Associates in Health Science for Medical Assisting. I have never had a job in healthcare, but it is something that I've always wanted. Being able to finally achieve that goal is truely a blessing. This is my second writing class here at KU, and I'm looking forward to what this course has to offer. A lot the material seems to be a review of the first college composition class, but review is always a good thing :) I haven't chosen a direct topic yet for my final project, but I'm throwing around what I think are a few good ideas. One of which is something I've experienced myself so I'm debating on which one to really use. I wish all of you the best this course, and I'm looking forward to your helpful thoughts and ideas throughout the term. Happy writing!!

here we go again...
I've now reached my 4th term at Kaplan University! Very exciting to know that I've come this far in what seems such a short amount of time. I look forward to blogging and working with everyone this term. I'm already thinking of a subject for the final project. Does anyone have any ideas yet??
